The International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA) is seeking volunteers to assist with their presence at the The Coffee Experience in Sydney.
From 3 – 5 September, a group interested in formalising the IWCA Australia Chapter will host its own stand at the expo to raise awareness of the needs of women in the industry, the vision for IWCA Australia, and the benefits for those who join.
To help spread the group’s passion for empowerment of women in the coffee industry, the IWCA is seeking interested volunteers to assist throughout the expo. Anyone interested in supporting the formation of Australia’s first IWCA group, and are interested in planning, organising and informative activities, are encouraged to be in contact with Gina of Numero Uno Coffee Roasters at gina@numerouno.com.au
“The Coffee Experience is a key event in the Australian coffee industry’s calendar and it helps connect women through the whole coffee value chain,” said Amelia Franklin of Amelia Franklin Fairtrade Coffee Roaster. “The Coffee Experience will become a meeting place for people interested in the empowerment of women in coffee worldwide.”
Throughout The Coffee Experience, participants from the emerging IWCA Australia chapter will host Q&A discussions and a networking breakfast to be held on 4 September. The breakfast is intended to celebrate and acknowledge women’s contributions within the industry.
To help make this networking opportunity possible, expressions of interest to attend the breakfast on 4 September are essential. Please RSVP to gina@numerouno.com.au
“Being involved in The Coffee Experience is such a great opportunity to raise awareness of the ICWA and to unite women and men in open dialogue about the association’s goals and objections in empowering women in the coffee industry,” says Gina
